Gmail is a free Internet based email client that was created by Google.com. This easy to use email client offers some very handy features and powerful tools. As with all Internet based email clients you can read your email anywhere in the world where there is an Internet connection. There is a familiar feel to the way that Gmail is layed out as well. This helps it to be an intuitive tool that you will feel comfortable with right from the start. Some of the key features we enjoy are:
- GTalk. Chat with other people that have a GTalk membership while you are reading your email.
- One account to manage them all. You can setup Gmail to retrieve any email from all of your existing email addresses that offer pop3 access. This means that if you read your email in a client such as Thunderbird or Outlook you will be able to get those email messages in Gmail.
- Filters meets tags. You can create custom filters that sort your email and automatically place tags on them. When you login to your Gmail account you are greeted with tags in front of the email subject.
- Spam tool. While this is probably not a new feature to some it is the most effective spam removal tool we have ever used.
Gmail integrates seamlessly into all of the other tools that Google offers. Google Calendar, Google Documents, Google Photos, Google Groups, Google Reader and more!
